Marantz has announced a new series of reference-quality separates. The M10 series is kicking-off with the M10 Integrated Amplifier and will follow up with SACD 10 reference SACD player and LINK 10n Reference Network Audio Player. According to Marantz, this latest Integrated Amplifier is a dual-mono symmetrical design and is, “the most powerful, highest performing Marantz amplifier ever.”

Marantz MODEL 10 Reference Integrated Amplifier

Bottom layer – two Class D power amps with individual SMPS. Top layer – analog power supply and line-level and phono processing circuitry.

The new dual-mono symmetrical amplifier topology features an a copper-plated, multi-layered chassis with an internal structure that isolates and screens each critical processing function. This approach creates a dual layered design plus strategically placed shields to isolate high and low power circuits from each other and prevent internal interference from affecting performance.

With a stereo rated power output of 250W + 250W (8 ohm, 20Hz-20kHz), and a THD of 0.05 %, Marantz have worked with Purifi to develop a Class D fully balanced power amplifier solution that can also support hit 500W + 500W (4 ohm, 20Hz-20kHz), also with a THD of 0.05 %. Each amplifier is fully balanced, input to output and has its own switched mode power supply (SMPS), with the all new line-level input design, that uses the latest generation of Marantz’s HDAM analogue circuitry, being supported by its own isolated and separated linear power supply.

For those needing even more power you can add up to four M10’s using Marantz’s proprietary Floating Control Bus System (FCBS) to link and control the amplifiers.

Mechanically the M10 Integrated Amplifier case features; an extruded aluminum front panel with dimmable LED lighting, an OLED porthole display, CNC machined aluminum control knobs for volume and input selection, 16mm thick solid aluminum side panels, that provide a low resonance structure, and a top mesh-covered grille section that is illuminated from within. A remote is also included for seated operation.

Rear panel stereo analog input connectivity includes; two XLR balanced and three RCA unbalanced connectors, phono RCA connectors that support either MM or MC with multiple loading options and both XLR and RCA power amp inputs. Output support includes; XLR and RCA preamplifier plus RCA recorder outputs. There are two pairs of speaker binding posts that support bi-wiring, while control is handled via; 3.5mm FCBS I/O, a 3.5mm IR connection and RCA I/O. Finally the front panel contains a 1/4″ headphone socket.
