Lyngdorf Audio of Skive, Denmark launches the latest addition to the company’s streaming amplifier range, the Lyngdorf TDAI-2210. It sits in the middle of the three TDAI (True Digital Amplifier Integrated) models featuring a new color touchscreen, their unique Class D digital amplification, and RoomPerfect room calibration. The amplifier delivers 2 x 105 watts into 8 Ohms at 0.05% THD and supports a rear panel option slot that can support one of the two available option modules; the HDMI 2.1 input/output module or the high-end analog input module.

The TDAI streaming amplifier is Lyngdorf’s language for a digital integrated amplifier. In this DAC-less design the audio signal travels through the amplifier’s circuitry entirely in the digital domain and is only converted to PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) to switch the output stage at the last possible moment. Maximum output power is 210W into 4 ohms with gain adjustements applied directly at the output stage. This unique solution eliminates several analog components and signal paths, which are a source of noise, hiss, crosstalk, and distortion. Ensuring high quality sound at all volume levels.

The various digital input connectivity handles bit rates up to 192KHz/24bit with the coaxial digital out supporting 96KHz/24 bit. Its media player provides access to; Internet Radio (airable), Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Roon Ready, Google Chromecast, Apple AirPlay2, DLNA Support (UPnP/see DLNA formats), Local file playback (USB), Bluetooth (BLE), and Plays with Audirvana.

Room calibration is offered using the included RoomPerfect software and microphone. It is also very easy to use with the Lyngdorf app or directly on the TDAI-2210 screen – no computer, software, or calibration knowledge required.

Control is available using the new front panel touchscreen that gives hands-on access to the amplifier’s settings and via; web-interface for setup and media player, remote application for IOS and Android, IP control, CEC (HDMI), 1 x trigger input, 1 x trigger output, 1 x RJ45 Ethernet LAN and the included IR remote.

Rear panel analog stereo connectivity includes; 2 x RCA, 1 x Mic (XLR) inputs and 1 x RCA, 1 x XLR outputs. Digital input connectivity includes; 3 x RCA coaxial, 2 x optical, 1 x USB C, 1 x HDMI 2.1, with digital output supported on a single coaxial RCA. Speaker connectivity is provided on two pairs of binding posts with wired control is available using the DC trigger I/O and 1 x RJ45 network connection. Headphone connectivity is available using the 3.5mm front panel socket.

Finally, two optional modules are available for additional connectivity expansion, they are:

  • HDMI 2.1 input/output module (8K):
    • The HDMI 2.1 module allows pass through of the higher contrast and greater detail resolution that HDMI 2.1 supports, up to 8K 50/60Hz and 4K 100/120Hz. It also supports TVs with the latest Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) and CEC. The HDMI 2.1 module can be ordered with a new TDAI-2210 or fitted to an existing TDAI-2210. It provides two HDMI inputs supporting audio up to 192kHz/24 bit and one HDMI in/out with eARC/ARC.
  • High-end analog input module:
    • The high-end analog input module is designed to support all high quality analog sources, and includes a dedicated input with RIAA compensation. The module holds four analog inputs – 1 phono (RIAA, MM), 2 RCA unbalanced inputs and 1 XLR balanced inputs. You can increase the sensitivity of each input by up to 24 dB, of which the first 6 dB gain is handled through gold plated relays in order to fully utilize the head room of the analog-to-digital converter. High-end analog input module (1 Phono (MM), 3 analog Line inputs)
