JBL Spinner BT Wireless Turntable – Quick Look

Right after the launch of their first-ever turntable, the TT350 Classic, JBL also unveiled a new Bluetooth turntable at CES 2023, the JBL Spinner BT. This is JBL’s first Bluetooth turntable, it supports both aptX HD wireless streaming and wired connections, all at an affordable price.
Its orange accented all-black design comes with a built in moving magnet (MM) phono pre-amplifier and supports aptX HD wireless streaming. This 24bit hi-res streaming format means that you can stream your vinyl records to compatible wireless speakers, soundbars and headphones and maintain that authentic vinyl sound without sacrificing audio quality.
The Spinner BT switchable phono stage also supports stereo analog outputs that can drive active speakers or your AVR.
The aluminum platter is mounted on an MDF plinth with damped feet to reduce vibration and comes with a hinged dust cover and tonearm. The platter is belt driven and its 33 1/3 and 45 rpm speeds are; “locked with a speed sensor to guarantee perfect pitch”, says JBL. The included tonearm comes with a pre-installed Audio Technica moving magnet cartridge, which is mounted in a removable headshell, making for easy replacement and upgrading. (No mention is made as to whether the arm height and bias can be adjusted.)
This latest JBL offering significantly undercuts the competing Cambridge Audio Alva ST ($999) and while it is more expensive than the Sony PS-LX310BT ($248.00), it does not support aptX HD.
