All Image Credit: Goldring
The GR3 turntable is the first table released by Goldring in almost twenty years, marking their return to the turntable arena. This latest model is of the plug-and-play variety including their Goldring E3 moving magnet (MM) cartridge and a built-in phono pre-amplifier. This new model is available in a high-gloss black finish with Perspex dust cover, and according to Goldring, the new deck has been developed in collaboration “with a renowned British hi-fi manufacturer”, identity not disclosed!
This latest model is a belt-driven turntable and comes with a straight tonearm, fixed headshell and a Goldring G3 MM cartridge included. Adjustments include, tracking weight, bias and zenith. It features a phenolic resin platter with increased rim mass providing an enhanced flywheel effect that helps to ensure consistent rotational speeds of; 33 1/3 and 45 rpm, and is driven by a 24 volt low vibration motor. Detailed motor/control details and plinth design/materials are yet to become available.
The package comes with a factory aligned cartridge and two phono cables, one phono-to-phono cable (1.5m) and one phono-to-3.5mm (3m long) simplifying its connection to integrated amplifiers, AVR’s and powered speakers. The RIAA equalized line-level RCA outputs are not switchable to the un-equalized phono cartridge output level.
