Goldmund Telos 4800 Mono Power Amplifier – First Look

Luxury Swiss audio brand Goldmund has made yet another addition to its ever growing range of super high-end amplifiers. The Telos 4800 mono power amplifier is basically a smaller version of the brand’s flagship Telos 8800 model, coming in a little less expensive.
The Telos 4800 offers a maximum power output of 1050 watts of Class AB power into 8 ohms, boasting ultra-low harmonic distortion of less than 0.005%, a damping factor of 600 at 1 kHz into 8 ohms, an output floor noise of less than 3 μV, and a super stable power supply, all for a clean natural sound. Gain is adjustable in 3dB steps.
The Telos 4800 is an all analog design, it is equipped with Goldmund’s proprietary MKP silver-metallized polypropylene film cap capacitors, a copper ground plan and uses a Class AB MOSFET output stage. Both thermal and short-circuit protection is provided to protect both the amplifier and speakers.
Rear panel connectivity is quite versatile including; line level analog unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR connector connectors, digital RCA input and output connectors, two pairs of speaker binding posts and a Goldmund speaker 4B type connector. Other connectors include; earth binding post with lift switch, a universal power socket, an RS232 connector, and a trigger.
Finally, arriving with an upgraded thicker panel structure, the Telos 4800 is available in both grey and black finishes at a “deal” of a price!
