Goldmund New Mimesis Signature Pre-Amplifier – Quick Look

Goldmund, the Swiss high-end audio company, has announced their latest pre-amplifier, the Mimesis Signature. Supporting both analog and digital inputs this flagship pre-amplifier is said by Goldmund to “Elevate the auditory experience to new heights”.
This flagship design features the ESS9028Q2M SABRE32 Reference DAC, a 32-bit stereo digital-to-analogue converter. It supports PCM audio data up to 384kHz at 32-bit and DSD data up to DSD-22.6MHz format (DSD512). This DAC sets new benchmarks with a dynamic range (DNR) of 129dB and remarkably low THD+N of -120dB.
Its carefully designed low noise power supply uses separate supplies for the analog and digital electronics, minimizing any potential noise interference between them. Output noise measures an exceptionally low 18µV, and together with its power supply rejection of 80dB is said to result in helping to achieve “unparalleled audio purity”.
Rear panel digital input connectivity includes; 2 x Digital S/PDIF, 1 x Toslink Optical and 1 x USB audio with analog nputs supported on; 1x balanced XLR and 3 x unbalanced RCA connectors. Analog outputs include; one pair of both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA connectors. Control is available using the supplied IR remote, RS232 DB9 rear panel connector or the two front panel rotary knobs.
Available in a silver-gray finish, the screwless design of the top panel and upgraded, thicker panel structure, a 12mm profile (previously 6-8mm) also help curb noise to ensure the utmost accuracy in sound reproduction.
