Epson has just announced a new 3-chip LCD Laser Projector that combines improved pixel-shifting with a new multi-array laser design. Together with the improved video processing algorithms this new model is said to provide better 4K performance than previous models without sacrificing picture brightness. This new 3LCD design is said to display 100 percent of the RGB color signal for every frame.
The new Pro Cinema LS12000 4K PRO-UHD shines in at 2,700 lumens, supporting refresh rates up to 120 frames per second (fps), with frame interpolation for lower frame rates, and 10-bit high dynamic range (HDR) processing for content encoded in the HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) formats. The projector supports 4K 4:4:4 60Hz 16 bit chroma sampling with connectivity through two HDMI 2.1/HDCP 2.3 HDMI ports, one of which supports an enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC). The projector gives a nod to gamers with a low lag rate below 20mS when running 4K @ 120fps. While for optimal room ambient light support 16 steps of control for real-time HDR curve adjustment are available for all content.
The dazzling 2700 lumens for both color and white is created by the all new Laser Array Light Source, said to provide a dynamic contrast ratio of 2,500,000:1. With 4K pixel creation from a new digitally controlled Precision Shift Glass Plate that refracts pixel light to display the 3840 x 2160 4K image. Many of these picture refinements are attributed to the new 36-bit ZX Picture Processor, which handles color, contrast, HDR frame interpolation, and resolution enhancement in real time, plus the the Epson VRX Cinema Lens that utilizes a proprietary 15-element precision glass structure.
Finally the projector includes ISF-certified calibration tools and is covered by a three-year limited warranty with two-business-day full unit replacement, including free shipping, and free lifetime technical phone support.
