Emotiva Audio Corporation of Franklin Tennesse, is now shipping the new Differential Reference Design Series Stack, a Stereo HiFi system comprised of four matched components, identical in size and style, for a simple set-up in limited spaces. The line up features a streamer, digital-to-analog converter (DAC), stereo preamp and a power amplifier, and are available as a full stack or as individual components, each model measuring 10-1/2″ W x 10-1/4″D x 2-1/4″H.

A short, balanced and fully differential signal path supports a low noise design. Sealed relays ensure that signal paths remain free from distortion. The precision volume control uses a  studio-grade resistor ladder that ensures constant left/right balance at any level, and the bass management may be set to 80 hertz or full-range. Connectivity encompasses; 1 x balanced summed XLR sub output, 1 x stereo RCA plus XLR outputs together with 1 x RCA phono, 2 x RCA and 1 x XLR stereo inputs simplifying system integration with wired control available using the 3.5mm 12VDC trigger I/O.

The power amplifier provides; 100 watts x 2 at 8 ohms or 130 watts x 2 at 4 ohms plus bridgeable to 365watts into 8 ohms and 400 watts into 4ohms. Its efficient Hypex NCORE 252-based Class D design provides high current while maintaining cool operation. Signal-to-noise ratio is quoted as 115dB below the music at rated output, with a quoted total harmonic distortion plus noise of 0.008%. A 3.5mm 12VDC trigger I/O is also provided.

Combining both Emotiva engineering and the Volumio platform this streamer provides a convenient and intuitive pathway to streaming and managing high-resolution digital audio. Signal outputs include; 1 x optical and 1 x coaxial digital, 1 x RCA and 1 x XLR analog stereo plus HDMI that supports a display interface for album art on a monitor. In addition up to six devices may be controlled for easy room synchronisation. Control of the DRS-1 is managed by the Volumio app, which allows users to play Qobuz, TIDAL, Spotify and more with a lifetime Premium license included. Wired control is again available using the 3.5mm 12VDC trigger I/O.

Connect your TV with HDMI-ARC for high quality stereo and simple control, plus there are 1 x coaxial and 1 x optical digital inputs. For music, use USB-C with your computer or streamer. One pair of fixed-level balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs feed your preamp or powered speakers, plus a 3.5mm 12VDC trigger I/O control is also provided.
