ELAC ConneX DCB61 Powered Wireless Speaker

ELAC have announced the ConneX DCB61, a powered high-performance wireless bookshelf speaker system. It features 2 channel Dolby Digital support, and a versatile selection of  inputs including; HDMI ARC, Analog/Phono, Optical, USB, and Bluetooth together with a pair of carefully engineered drivers and amplifiers. They are available in four colors; black, olive, walnut and white.

Building on the success of the DCB41, the DCB61 merges larger drivers , dedicated power amplifiers and a useful range of both analog and digital inputs. Each bass reflex speaker contains a long-excursion 6½-inch polypropylene woofer driven by a dedicated 60W Class D amp, to deliver deep bass with impact and control. High frequencies are handled by a 19mm soft-dome tweeter powered by its own 20W amp. It is seated in a precision-engineered waveguide helping to provide balanced treble across a wide listening area. Rear-firing “S”-shaped bass reflex ports extend the low-end response to 41Hz (-3dB), while reducing ventilation noise.

This master/slave configuration places all the power amps, processing and power connectivity in the master speaker, using a simple bi-wired connection to the slave speaker. L/R reversal is available using the masters rear panel L/R switch.

Control is available using the supplied IR remote or ELAC’s dedicated iOS and Android app, giving users the ability to adjust; EQ, system settings, source, volume and front panel source LED brightness.

Rear panel input connectivity includes; 1 x stereo RCA input switchable between line and MM phono with RIAA EQ, 1x HDMI ARC for TV audio, 1 x USB-B for hi-res playback up to 24-bit/96kHz, 1 x optical and Bluetooth LC3+ for high-quality wireless streaming. Outputs include; 1 x RCA subwoofer and slave speaker connection via the supplied lead. Other rear panel functions include; L/R switching, a grounding lug and a rotary push knob to adjust; volume, on/off and control.

Finally, cabinet construction employs 12mm reinforced MDF with removable grilles.
