The European Audio Team (EAT) have just released their E-Glo II hybrid tube phono stage. This latest audiophile two chassis model boasts; “a cutting-edge design that maximizes performance from any cartridge”. It arrives in a sleek pair of black or silver aluminum cases beautifully complementing its six-tube design that are illuminated with dimmable LED’s and selectable color.

This two-box design uses a separate power supply with a double-shielded custom toroidal transformer in order to prevent interference. The valve compliment is four ECC83’s and two ECC88’s, which are widely used by audiophiles, offering easy replacement options and flexibility to experiment with equivalent tube types.

The design features a fully balanced input stage that uses a Lundahl LL step-up transformer, offering 45dB of passive gain, with passive equalization that supports the MM or MC low-noise output of 75dBV, a THD of <0,1% and various gain options of: MM – 46dB, MC – 70dB/76dB. Premium components to include; Mundorf and WIMA capacitors further elevating the performance.

The E-Glo II offers various  loading options for both MM and MC cartridges. The MM inputs supports adjustable capacitance loads of 50,150,270,370,520,620,740 and 840 pF, while the MC inputs provides selectable resistances of; 10,20,40,80,150,300,600 and 1200 Ohm/Gain 70dB and 2,5,10,20,40,80,150 and 300 Ohm/Gain 76dB. Selected loads are displayed on the front panel LEDs.
