Dan D’Agostino of Arizona, well known for his selection of high-end audiophile amplifiers, has just announced the Pendulum Integrated Amplifier. This new model derives its JFET input circuit topology from the Momentum C4 Preamplifier using all-balanced, direct coupled, complementary signal paths, has four analog inputs and a stereo power output of 120watts into 8 ohms. Additionally an optional DAC module is available to support digital inputs and wireless connectivity.

The Pendulum Integrated Amplifier features a custom toroidal transformer rated at 750VA, complemented by a nearly 25,000 μF capacitor bank. Its internal circuitry filters RF noise from the AC powerline and addresses issues such as asymmetric power waveforms and DC on the AC mains. All allowing the amplifiers power section to provide 240W into 4 Ohms and supporting challenging loudspeaker loads.

Rear panel analog connectivity includes; three stereo balanced XLR inputs, one unbalanced RCA phono input, one stereo balanced XLR output that can act as a loop through or drive your subwoofer, a 1/4″ headphone jack, two pairs of gold plated speaker binding posts and an RS232 for control. The MC phono input module supports up to 60dB of gain and is provided with a range of loading options that should suit most cartridges.

Digital connectivity is provided through the optional DAC module. It supports; optical and both RJ45 and Wi-Fi network connections, and offers an HDMI Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC), simplifying integration into home entertainment systems.

The DAC module is capable of handling the highest resolution sources available today, decoding PCM signals up to 32-bit/384 KHz and DSD signals up to DSD256 (11.2MHz) natively. Through the use of the iOS apps it supports control of music collections, streaming content, and unit functions. Native integration with subscription streaming services includes; TIDAL, Qobuz, and Spotify are supported within the app, with additional compatibility for TIDAL Connect. Standard MQA decoding is also possible when using appropriately encoded files. Roon Ready certification will also be available.

Besides the iOS apps, control is available via the two front panel knobs and the included Bluetooth-enabled remote control that is housed in Delrin providing access to unit settings and functions. Offering bi-directional communication the remote mirrors the information from the Pendulum Integrated Amplifier’s front panel display onto its own screen, including input, volume, and song metadata. The remote may be charged using its USB connection.
