Cambridge Audio has just introduced VU meters and a clock display to its CXN100 network player, via an over-the-air software update. Then CXN100 is the  successor to the CXN V2 streaming DAC. This new model retains its predecessor’s physical appearance having; the same size, a single and now more tactile volume control and a larger higher resolution display screen. However, there have been significant upgrades to the internal electronics with a new ESS DAC, the Gen4 StreamMagic module and higher quality components.

This latest software update had previously been provided for the Evo 75, Evo 150 and Evo 150 DeLorean Edition streaming amplifier models, but has been brought back by popular demand to now include the CXN100.

These latest display options are available as an over-the-air (OTA) software update and are accessible via the (i) button on the front of the unit. The updates adds the ability to switch between viewing the VU meters, an easy-to-read digital clock, or to showcase the currently playing album artwork.

The iconic looking analog VU (volume unit) meters with their ticking needles defined an analog audio era long-gone-by and show the “average” signal levels. While the clock display provides and easy to read time of day display.

This is a free OTA firmware upgrade for the CXN100 and all Evo Models.
