Cambridge Audio has announced the Evo 150 SE, a Special Edition update to the Evo 150 all-in-one streaming amplifier. It comes with enhanced circuitry, upgraded components and a further-refined industrial design that continues the minimalist, retro-modern look. The design is finished in black, and ships with interchangeable real wood and textured black side panels, magnetically attached and easily swapped to suit different tastes.

This latest model supports a pair of Hypex NCOREx Class D amplifier modules, delivering 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms that are supported by an ESS Sabre ES9018K2M DAC. Streaming is handled by Cambridge Audio’s fourth-generation StreamMagic platform that supports; Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Deezer, Amazon Music, and Roon Ready functionality via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.  Also available is Bluetooth aptX HD, AirPlay 2, and Google Cast, and integration with; Google Home, Apple AirPlay, and Roon for multiroom playback.

Control is available locally by using the updated 6.8-inch full-color screen that cycles between; menus, album art, a clock, or virtual VU meters, together with the front panel buttons and the newly updated dual-concentric volume control, the supplied IR remote or the updated StreamMagic (Gen 4) app.

Rear panel wired connectivity includes; 1 x EVO CD, 1 x HDMI ARC for simple TV setup and control, 1 x USB audio in, 1 x USB media, 1 x RJ45 Network, 1 x DC trigger out, 1 x trigger/IR in, 1 x RS232C for control, 1 x coaxial and optical inputs, 1 x RCA and XLR stereo analog line inputs, 1 x MM phono RCA stereo input, 1 x RCA mono sub-out and 1 x RCA stereo pre-out. There are also two pairs of speaker binding posts per channel supporting bi-wiring or a second pair of speakers. Plus there is a 3.5mm front panel socket for headphone connectivity.
