BenQ has just released their new, competitively priced, flagship W5800 projector with true 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution. It supports images up to 200 inch and has eARC connectivity for Dolby Atmos.

The W5800 is a 16:9 DLP projector that uses Blue Core Laser technology with a lifespan of up to 25,000 hours in Eco mode, and can provide up to 2600 ANSI lumens of brightness. It features a 14-element 7-group lens system that is coated with low dispersion materials that reduce color differences, and supports a true 2.35:1 cinemascope image with the use of an external Anamorphic lens.

The W5800 has a throw ratio of 1.52~2.45 and a contrast ratio (Full on/Full off) of 2,000,000:1 using BenQ’s Dynamic Black technology, and it supports 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut in Cinema mode with a brightness of up to 1,700 ANSI lumens.

Color temperature tuning is combined with BenQ’s HDR-PRO technology to obtain a good picture balance regardless of whether it’s a bright or dark scene. The projector is ISFccc certified and comes with individual factory calibration reports to assure 100% Rec.709 with a Delta E<1, and the entire grayscale tracking with a Delta E<2 for optimized DCI-P3 color table for true Hollywood colors.

Installation is simplified with the 1.6x optical motorized zoom lens and 2D lens shift that provides ±50% vertical and ±21% horizontal lens shift, with keystone adjustment of ±35 degrees both vertically and horizontally.

Control is available using the supplied RCV024 infra-red remote, the projectors rear 9 button panel or via RS232 for integrated control.
