Auris MYSTiK Turntable – First Look

Auris Audio of Serbia have announced a new belt driven turntable called the MYSTiK. Its sleek and modern design embodies minimalist aesthetics that integrate both traditional and state-of-the-art materials into the production of this turntable, being crafted from the advanced Kerrock composite material that according to Auris is; “renowned for its exceptional vibration resistance and durability.” The turntable comes with the Auri T809 tonearm with a pre-installed and fully aligned Ortofon Blue 2M moving magnet cartridge and connecting cable, making it a plug-and-play device.
Supporting the main platter is a cutting-edged sub-platter design made from cemented carbide metal. The whole platter/sub-platter assembly is supported by a 10mm shaft that rotates within a bronze main hub central bearing and sits on a ceramic thrust ball-bearing. All ensuring low friction and long life, together with high stability.
The sub-platter is driven by a 9v/12v DC motor via a flat rubber belt and is isolated from the main plinth using specialized rubber spacers, designed to minimize the transmission of vibrations from the motor. We are told that the motor is “unaffected by fluctuations in the electrical supply voltage.”
Included in the package is the Auri T809 tonearm that Auris claims is “the pinnacle of precision engineering in the world of audio playback” and “an ingenious design that effectively dampens vibrations.” It comes with; queuing arm, supports both tracking and bias weight adjustments and cartridge zenith adjustment.
The whole design being supported on three height adjustable feet that not only provide levelling and stability, but feature a special rubber compound to reduce vibrations.
