AURALiC has announced the AQUILA X3 flagship Streaming Media Processor, with CD Transport. Combining modern aesthetics with advanced technology, the AQUILA X3 Streaming Media Processor, with separate power supply, features; a modular design, a 14-inch touchscreen, and a wide range of analog and digital connectivity options. At its core is the Tesla G3 platform, supported by technologies such as Direct Data Recording (DDR) and Galvanic Isolation. It is available with trim colors that include; Jet Black, Space Grey, and Titanium Gold, with interchangeable surface panel options that span aluminum, plastic, solid walnut wood, natural slate and marble.

AURALiC has developed an intuitive new software interface for AQUILA X3 and LightningCast, AURALiC’s next-generation multi-room streaming protocol. This advanced platform seamlessly integrates with many leading streaming services including; Lightning DS, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, AirPlay 2 and more.

Its customizable connectivity comes with a base line including; Ethernet and WiFi, 2 x Toslink inputs, 1 x  Coaxial input, USB Audio ports (USB-B at the rear and USB-C on the front), 1 x HDMI eARC, 1 x USB 3.0 for external storage, and a built-in CD transport. Users can then add connectivity from a range of optional digital and analogue I/O modules including a phono module that supports both pure analog, or digital processing. Additionally, the X3 accommodates up to 8TB of optional internal NVMe storage if required.

The AURALiC AQUILA X3 analog output module incorporates their proprietary Fusion DAC Gen II, which combines discrete ladder and Delta-Sigma architectures, an Integrated LEO Clock, ORFEO Class A output module and ORFEO passive analogue volume control. This unique DAC design bypasses many standard DAC chip functions, including the PLL, digital filters, and oversampling circuits, replacing them with AURALiC’s proprietary technologies for clock reconstruction, digital filtering, and oversampling. Only using the precise switching network of the DAC chip for digital-to-analogue conversion. The Fusion DAC Gen II has retained the Clear and Mellow sound profiles of the Tone Mode Control and expanded it adding two new parameters: ‘Richness’ and ‘Texture’.

Powering this unique flagship design is AURALiC’s latest variable-frequency external PSU, which is said to utilize “Class AB regeneration technology” that allows the user to select up to a 400Hz regeneration frequency. The resulting clean AC power sine wave is then fed to linear power modules, which according to AURALiC eliminates all EMI noise and contamination from the main AC supply.

Each unit is custom-built to order, and you can design and visualize your configurations using this tool on AURALiC’s website.
