Acoustic Energy Release AE Sub Active Subwoofer

UK company Acoustic Energy have just released the AE active subwoofer. This latest model complementing both their 100 and 300 Series loudspeakers. It uses a 250watt (RMS) Class D amplifier driving a 12” (305mm) high-excursion doped and stiffened pulp-fiber driver. This downward firing driver is mounted in a sealed and compact cabinet that AE says; “houses the amplifier and driver in an optimally tuned enclosure for fast, deep and tuneful bass”, extending the low frequency response of the main speakers as low as 26Hz (-6dB). Available in matte black or matte white the AE Sub is supplied with sturdy carpet-piercing spikes and is fitted with convenient rubber caps for use on hard flooring.
Rear panel connectivity includes; 1 x stereo line-level, 1 x LFE and 2 x high-level speaker inputs. With adjustments for; level, auto on/off, an adjustable low pass filter (40>120Hz) and phase inversion (0/180°).
